Fuhonsen

In 1998 some forty pieces were dug from the Asukaike site together with moulds and crucibles, and were confirmed as coin of the later seventh century. On the round, square-holed face is 'Fuhon', with the seven-star pattern to left and right. The diameter averages 2.4 cm. Whether they were used in the market, or were an offering laid in the ground, is a question still open.
