A 50 sen note from 1937. This is a small-denomination note from a period when the wartime atmosphere was intensifying. The issuance of Bank of Chosen notes increased rapidly towards the end of the war, leading to inflation immediately after liberation. This small-denomination paper marks the beginning of an era of massive over-issuance.
