Money deducted as payment for transactions or custody. A cost not always apparent on the price tag.

There are three types: when buying, while holding, and when selling. ⚠ Even 1% per year, if deducted annually, will compound. In twenty years, nearly 20% of the principal will be gone. You cannot make a comparison without adding the three to get an annual rate.
