User Fees for Services (Explanation of Long-Term Care Insurance)

Claims Supported by This Source

  1. The user co-payment for long-term care insurance services is 10% of the cost (20% or 30% for those with income above a certain level). For 10,000 yen worth of services, the co-payment is 1,000 yen (2,000 yen at 20%).
  2. For facility use, in addition to the 10-30% co-payment, users must also bear the costs of residence, food, and daily living expenses.
  3. Services used beyond the limit amount are fully paid out-of-pocket by the user.
  4. If the total monthly user co-payment exceeds the upper limit for their income category, the excess amount is paid from the long-term care insurance as a High-Cost Long-Term Care Service Benefit.
