- The SEC amended its rules for MMFs (decided by the Commission on July 12, 2023, effective October 2, 2023). It removed the ability for a fund's board to temporarily suspend redemptions (gates) when liquidity falls below a certain threshold, and also removed the link between liquidity thresholds and liquidity fees.
- It mandated that institutional prime and tax-exempt MMFs impose a liquidity fee when net redemptions exceed 5% of net assets. It raised the minimums for daily liquid assets (DLA) and weekly liquid assets (WLA) to 25% and 50%, respectively.
