Man'en koban

In the first year of Man'en, the last koban was struck at a much reduced weight in order to close the gold-to-silver ratio that had opened between Japan and abroad. The standard weight is 8 bu 8 rin, 3.3 grams. The gold in it fell to about one eighth of the Keichō koban, and it was called the doll koban. The outflow of gold stopped, but prices leapt and struck daily life directly.
