Eiraku Tsūhō (Yongle Tongbao)

A cash coin whose minting began in the Ming dynasty in the sixth year of the Yongle era (1408). It was also brought to Japan, where it was particularly valued in the eastern part of the country.
The Edo shogunate established exchange rates for cash coins in the 13th–14th years of the Keichō era (1608–1609) and demonetized the Eiraku Tsūhō. However, this did not mean that all coins throughout the country were immediately replaced with new domestic coinage. The shogunate did not begin minting the Kan'ei Tsūhō until the 13th year of the Kan'ei era (1636).
It was produced in one country and used in another. This coin is a starting point for considering this phenomenon.
