A 100 Yen (100 Won) note issued in 1946 under the United States Army Military Government in Korea. The outstanding balance of 4.843 billion Yen on Liberation Day swelled to 7.99 billion by the end of August and 8.68 billion in September. At the dawn of an era of increased issuance, the same note was called both Yen and Won—a piece of paper that captures the moment of this name change.
