A 1 Hwan silver coin inscribed with the 502nd year of the founding, equivalent to 1893. The character 圜 is the same as that used for the Hwan currency unit from 1953, and it shares its lineage with 圓 (Won). Won, Hwan, Yen, Yuan—this is an early piece in the story of a family of related characters interchanging in the purse.
