Ottoman Bank 200 Piastres Note
1863 ・ paper ・ 19th century ・ Imperial Ottoman Bank
One of the earliest notes issued by the Imperial Ottoman Bank in 1863, exercising its privilege of issue shortly after its establishment. According to the holding museum's commentary, it is confirmed to be an Izmir note, with Izmir as the place of payment. The "ANNULÉ" cancellation mark on its face indicates its history as a voided specimen, and it was collected in this state. It is the physical manifestation of the "key" entrusted to a bank with Anglo-French capital.
