A 10 Kronen banknote from 1904. The Krone, introduced in 1892 based on a plan by Hungarian Finance Minister Wekerle, was established on the gold standard at a rate of 3280 Kronen per kilogram of pure gold. The face of the note is bilingual, in German and Magyar (Hungarian)—the face of the Dual Monarchy's currency, where two nations coexisted on a single piece of paper.
