10000 Kronen note (1918)

The 10,000 Kronen note appeared in the final year of the Empire. A denomination ten times higher than the peacetime maximum speaks to the speed of the collapse. Afterwards, these same notes were stamped by the successor states and divided. In Austria, after being devalued to a rate of 14,400 paper Kronen to 1 gold Krone, 10,000 Kronen were converted to exactly one Schilling in 1925. This single note is the equivalent of a later Schilling.
