A 120 grana silver coin from the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, 1834. The obverse features the inscription FERDINANDVS II DEI GRATIA REX and the king's head; the reverse shows a crown and shield with the letters G.120. The Naples house was established in 1821, and its first task was a loan to the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. The amount and terms are not recorded in the copy. The archive writes of its later expansion, noting that five public loans were issued in the name of the Papal States between 1831 and 1850, and that the main business was the acceptance of bills of exchange and foreign exchange. This silver coin was struck during the forty-two years the house operated in the kingdom.
