A one thaler silver coin of the Austrian Emperor Franz I, 1820. The obverse shows the laureate head of the emperor and the inscription AVSTRIAE IMPERATOR; the reverse shows a double-headed eagle. In the same year, 1820, the Vienna State Chancellery entered into negotiations with the family. The archives note that the counterparty was Foreign Minister Metternich and the matter was a large government bond in the form of a lottery. The mechanism was so complex that it could not proceed without a Rothschild in Vienna. Salomon went, but since the laws of the Empire did not permit Jews to acquire real estate, the firm's office was set up in a hotel room. This is a silver coin bearing the name of that empire.
