Meaning "Union Taler." A common silver coin shared by Germany and Austria under the 1857 monetary treaty, it continued to be struck in Germany even after the dissolution of the alliance and circulated as 3 marks after unification.

⚠ A coin that outlived a state. Even when a treaty disappears, the silver coins in one's purse do not vanish so easily.
