A city district where Jewish people were forced to live. The district in Frankfurt was created in 1460 and is considered the first in Europe.

At its peak, over three thousand people lived in the Jewish quarter of Frankfurt (according to museum records). The Rothschild family came from this quarter. Just as a single coin has a provenance, a family also has a place of origin.
