Claims Supported by This Source
- The Basic Old-Age (Employees') Pension can be deferred instead of being received at age 65, and can be received as an increased amount between the ages of 66 and 75. The rate of increase does not change for life.
- Rate of increase (max 84%) = 0.7% × number of months from the month the person turns 65 to the month before the month of the deferral request.
- For persons born on or before April 1, Shōwa 27, the maximum age for deferring pension payments is 70, and the maximum rate of increase is 42%.
