Claims Supported by This Source

  1. The High-Cost Medical Expense Benefit System is a system that provides reimbursement for the amount of medical expenses paid at medical institutions or pharmacies that exceeds an upper limit. This limit is determined according to age and income.
  2. Under the system from August 2026, if a person under 70 with an annual income of approx. 3.7 to 5.1 million yen receives treatment costing 1 million yen, their out-of-pocket expense will be limited to approx. 93,000 yen.
  3. From August 2026, in addition to the monthly cap, an annual cap (from August to the following July) will be established.
