Issued in the sixteenth year of Shōwa. Pure aluminium, 16 millimetres across, weight 0.65 grams. It had been pared down further from the 17.5 millimetres and 0.9 grams of the year before, and in the later part of the eighteenth year of Shōwa it became 0.55 grams. As metal was turned over to war production, what was left to ordinary people was only the feel of the one-sen piece in the hand growing lighter.

Diameter 16mm
