Ten-yen bronze coin (reeded edge)

Ten-yen bronze coins dated from the twenty-sixth to the thirty-third year of Shōwa have reeding on the edge. Bronze of 95 per cent copper, 23.5 millimetres across, weight 4.5 grams. It is said to have been there to mark the highest denomination of the day. The Phoenix Hall of Byōdō-in on the face has not changed in over seventy years, and the same design is made still.
