1 Won Pattern Coin
1888 ・ silver ・ 19th century ・ Jeonhwanguk (Mint)
A 1 Won pattern coin from 1888. Housed in the Bode Museum in Berlin. It is a specimen coin from the era of the Jeonhwanguk mint, established in 1883 for Western-style minting, and is one of the earliest physical examples to bear the character "圓" (Won) on its face. This single character establishes the nominal lineage to the later Won.
