The "Daedong" silver coin, minted in 1882. It came in three denominations: 1, 2, and 3 Jeon; the specimen pictured is a 1 Jeon. This coin marks the beginning of Joseon's transition to Western-style currency after the opening of its ports. The white number on the reverse is the accession number from the holding museum, a part of the specimen's provenance. From the collection of the National Museum of Korea.
