A double thaler of Charles VI (reigned 1711–1740). Undated, it belongs to the Tyrolean minting lineage. This large silver coin, containing the silver of two thalers, represents the culmination of the "large silver" tradition dating back to the Hall mint. Housed in a Tyrolean museum. ⚠ There was a temptation to pair this with a coin of Joseph I from the same shelf to form an obverse and reverse, but the acquisition records advised against it—a reminder not to combine different coins into one.
