One of the new coins issued during the 1961 redenomination. The obverse features the state emblem, while the reverse shows only the denomination and the year, with no individual portraits. It is the coin counterpart from the same year that the small new banknotes were nicknamed "candy wrappers". This design continued to be struck for thirty years, until the end of the Soviet Union.
