Pillar dollar (columnario, eight reales)

Two pillars flank two hemispheres, which are surmounted by a crown. The inscription reads VTRAQUE VNUM. This is an eight-real silver coin known as a pillar dollar, or *columnario*. The photograph shown bears the date 1768, and the image source identifies it as a coin from the Potosí mint.
