A common silver coin introduced in 1433 by an edict of Philip the Good in the four lands of Flanders, Brabant, Hainaut, and Holland. It was called a stuiver in Dutch, a patard in French, and also a vierlander as it was current in the four lands.

The Low Countries' accounting was based on one gulden being twenty stuivers, and one stuiver being eight duiten. The ducaton of 1659 was set at sixty-three stuivers.

⚠ The currency law of 1816 made one gulden equal to one hundred cents, ending the world of accounting in twenty stuivers.
