Hard Currency

硬通貨 / hard currency — Phenomena

A currency that is unlikely to depreciate.

Austria The Shadow Mark / Central Bank

A currency that is unlikely to depreciate and is accepted across borders. The post-war Deutsche Mark and the Swiss franc are prime examples. In countries with weak currencies, it becomes a safe haven for household savings.

⚠ "Hard" and "soft" are relative assessments. When a country's own currency is soft, people's wallets are the first to know.
