Consumer Price Index (CPI).

  1. The Consumer Price Index measures, over time, the change in prices of goods and services purchased by households nationwide.
  2. It is compiled monthly, showing as an index how the cost of a fixed basket of consumer goods and services changes with price fluctuations.
  3. The results are used for economic policy-making and pension revisions, among other things.
