  1. In FYE 2024 (April 2023 to March 2024), the average weekly household expenditure in the UK was £623.30. This is a nominal increase of £55.60 (10%) from the previous year, and a real-terms increase of £15.40 (3%) after accounting for inflation.
  2. The largest expenditure category was housing (net), fuel and power at 18% (£113.30), followed by transport at 14% (£88.20).
  3. The richest fifth of households spent £948.70 per week, while the poorest fifth spent £378.60.
