- Added a feature to Coinage of the Roman Republic Online (CRRO) to dynamically calculate estimates of the number of dies per type from the die-link data of the Roman Republican Die Project (RRDP, Richard Schaefer).
- The calculation is based on Esty 2006 'How to estimate the original number of dies and the coverage of a sample' and 2011 'The Geometric Model for Estimating the Number of Dies' (with p = 1, not p = 2, in a later addendum).
- Values included in the response: sample size n, number of dies d, singletons d1 (dies appearing on only one coin), coverage estimate c_est, die estimate d_est, and 95% confidence lower and upper bounds. Calculated for obverse and reverse respectively.
- Frequencies (how many dies are represented by how many coins) are also aggregated and can be downloaded as a CSV. The calculation is performed each time the page is opened, so the numbers change as data is added.
How to read the verification levels. "Read Through" means the source was read in its entirety. "Bibliography & Abstract Read" means the bibliographic information and abstract were confirmed. "Via Course Material" means the source was referenced through the textbook or course text. The "Text Hash" is the SHA-256 of the main text from the publisher's page, excluding tags and whitespace, used to detect if the source has been modified.
