  1. The legal consultation centers of the bar associations are operated by the bar associations to which all lawyers in Japan belong, and they provide legal consultations at approximately 300 locations nationwide.
  2. Consultation time is approximately 30 minutes, and the fee is around 5,500 yen, though it varies by region and the nature of the consultation.
  3. Consultation appointments can be booked anytime, 24 hours a day (all day), through the 'Himawari Sōdan Netto'.
  4. For those worried about paying legal fees, there is a legal aid system and special clauses for legal fees in insurance and mutual aid plans.
  5. Since legal consultations are time-limited, it is advisable to prepare and organize documents and what you want to discuss in advance.
  6. After the legal consultation, you can either retain the lawyer who handled the consultation or consult a different lawyer.
  7. There are contact points for when you have trouble with a lawyer, a disciplinary system, and a client compensation system.
