Claims Supported by This Source

  1. Four signs of a scam: pretending to be from a known organization / saying there is a problem or a prize / pressuring you to act immediately / telling you to pay in a specific way (e.g., with cryptocurrency or a money transfer service).
  2. Countermeasures: block unwanted calls and messages, do not give out personal or financial information, resist the pressure to act immediately.
  3. The FTC will never tell you to send money to protect your money.

How to read the verification levels. "Read Through" means the source was read in its entirety. "Bibliography & Abstract Read" means the bibliographic information and abstract were confirmed. "Via Course Material" means the source was referenced through the textbook or course text. The "Text Hash" is the SHA-256 of the main text from the publisher's page, excluding tags and whitespace, used to detect if the source has been modified.
