On September 19, 2008, announced the Asset-Backed Commercial Paper Money Market Mutual Fund Liquidity Facility (AMLF), a non-recourse loan facility at the primary credit rate for U.S. depository institutions and bank holding companies to finance their purchases of high-quality ABCP from MMFs. Aimed to help MMFs meet redemption demands and support liquidity in the ABCP market.
  2. Also announced a plan to purchase discount notes (short-term debt) of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Banks from primary dealers.
